Applicants for the M.M. degree must play a first movement of a standard concerto, two movements of a Bach solo sonata, and two additional contrasting works. Applicants for the D.M.A. degree must play the following:
Applicants for the M.M. and D.M.A degrees must play a first movement of a standard concerto, two movements of a Bach solo sonata (or another unaccompanied work), and two additional contrasting works.
All applicants should prepare at least two contrasting works, as well as an orchestral excerpt or cadenza. Sight-reading will be included. Applicants who submit a taped audition must include repertoire consisting of thirty to forty-five minutes of music; selections should include contrasting works as well as an orchestral excerpt or cadenza. Movements or excerpts from concerti or chamber music are also acceptable. Applicants who audition on-campus must perform solo works from memory.
