All graduate applicants should prepare an audition consisting of one major work of J.S. Bach, along with contrasting works from at least two other style periods. Applicants for the M.M. degree should be prepared to play for twenty minutes. Applicants for the D.M.A. degree should be prepared to play for thirty minutes. Memorized performance is optional.
All applicants should prepare one Bach work chosen from the following: Goldberg Variations, Italian Concerto, French Overture, Partitas, Chromatic Fantasy and Fugue, Toccatas; one chamber work (recommended) or Elizabethan repertory; or Frescobaldi or Froberger Toccata; or 17th-century variations, and/or Sweelinck; or comparable works.
